Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida names Sheesley mission events director


BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (September 11, 2013) – Charlie Myrick, executive director of Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida, recently named Tish Sheesley mission events director. Sheesley is responsible for the coordination of Komen’s local grant awards, educational forums, speaking engagements and outreach events.

“I look forward to enhancing the grantee and community relationships that Susan G. Komen Southwest Florida has built these past few years,” stated Sheesley. “I will be educating the community about breast cancer and encouraging involvement in our many local fundraising events so that more funding can be put into our grants program to fund mammograms, diagnostic testing and follow-up.”

Sheesley earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising and public relations from the University of Central Florida. Sheesley has not only worked in the non-profit industry in the past, but has also volunteered extensively for organizations such as the Early Learning Coalition, Habitat for Humanity and Take Stock in Children. Sheesley’s previous work experience includes the Alzheimer’s Association, Women of Tomorrow and the Science and Discovery Center, where she was the executive director.
