Snow in the forecast: City of Bonita Springs readies for annual Holiday in the Park celebration


BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Nov. 19, 2013) – The City of Bonita Springs will kick off the holiday season with a blizzard in the park, the annual tree lighting, live entertainment, a snow slide and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus at the 13th annual Holiday in the Park celebration on Dec. 3. The City of Bonita Springs will be hosting a toy drive for the community to donate unwrapped toys for boys and girls up to 12 years of age. The collected toys will be given out to children at Holiday in the Park. The event takes place at Riverside Park on Old 41 in historic downtown Bonita Springs from 4:30-8:30 p.m.

Live entertainment and many local school bands will perform holiday music throughout the evening. In addition to the snow slide, there will be a snow pile and train rides for kids, free holiday cookies and apple cider, and other family activities. Horse and carriage rides are free. Vendors will be on hand to serve additional refreshments.

The annual tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. with holiday greetings from the Mayor and other county and city officials.

The Artist Cottages and Historical Society at the Liles Hotel will be open during the event.
