Mitchell Dentistry introduces new digital scanner for comfort and accuracy

FORT MYERS, Fla. (Oct. 14, 2013) – Mitchell Dentistry, a family-owned comprehensive dental practice based in Fort Myers, is among the first to introduce the new iTero scanner, chair side digital technology that creates full-color life-like electronic renderings to share with patients. The new technology replaces the traditional dental “impressions” which were messy and often inaccurate.

iTero, an innovative powderless solution, features a modern design with enhanced wand optics for a smaller, more ergonomic fit, easy-to-use keyboard design and a larger working surface. Most important, the results are generated within seconds and provide a 99 percent degree of accuracy.

“Whether we are using iTero for crown or bridge restoration, or for Invisalign, we can select the option that meets the needs of each individual patient,” said Jim Mitchell, DDS. “The new technology allows for better patient communication and education during our consultations. With Invisalign, for example, the improved digital capture enables patients to visualize the outcome before we even begin.”

Drs. Jim, Yolanda and Joe Mitchell have all completed iTero training and were among the first dentists in Southwest Florida to implement the technology.
