City of Bonita Springs readies for annual Holiday in the Park celebration


BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Nov. 15, 2011) – The City of Bonita Springs will kick off the holiday season with a flurry of winter activities, the annual tree lighting, a snow slide and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus at the 12th annual Holiday in the Park celebration on Dec. 4. The event takes place at Riverside Park on Old 41 in historic downtown Bonita Springs from 4:30-8:30 p.m. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be escorted by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, the Bonita Springs Fire Department and other emergency personnel.

Live entertainment and many local bands will perform holiday music throughout the evening. In addition to the snow slide, there will be a snowfall area for kids, free holiday cookies and apple cider, and other family activities. Holiday train rides and horse and carriage rides are free. Vendors will be on hand to serve additional refreshments.

The annual tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. with holiday greetings from the Mayor and other county and city officials.

The Artist Cottages and Historical Society at the Liles Hotel will be open during the event.
