2013 Celebrate Bonita! Festival announces headliner Thompson Square

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. (Feb. 6, 2013) – The Celebrate Bonita! Festival announces Thompson Square as the headlining entertainment to mark the city’s 13th anniversary. The celebration takes place on April 13 in the historic, downtown district of Bonita Springs. The festivities begin at 2 p.m. at Riverside Park and include live music, children’s activities, a chili cook-off, the “Chalk Where You Walk” art competition and much more.

Named the Academy of Country Music’s “Vocal Duo of the Year” in 2012, Thompson Square took the country music world by storm with their GRAMMY nominated, hit single “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.” The husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson are known for their mash-up of country and rock music and their smooth harmonies. With the recent release of their sophomore album and the new single “If I Didn’t Have You”, the duo is nominated for the 2013 Country Music Awards in the categories of New Artist of the Year and Duo of the Year.

New this year to Celebrate Bonita! will be the addition of the Big Dog Show art display. Artist Dale Rogers will be exhibiting a few of his metal sculptures. Community activities and booths will be set up throughout Riverside Park and the Artists’ Cottages at the Liles Hotel will be open.

The celebration is from 2 to 9 p.m. at Riverside Park in the historic district of Bonita Springs on Old U.S. 41 and Pennsylvania Avenue. Admission to Celebrate Bonita! is free to the entire community. Proceeds from refreshment sales will benefit the Bonita Springs Assistance Office. Pets and coolers are prohibited in the park.
