SARASOTA, Fla., (May 15, 2012) – Sarasota Jungle Gardens is once again gearing up for their popular summer zoo camp program which runs weekly from June 11 through Aug. 10. The activity-filled program provides children age five to 12 with real life experience as zookeepers.

Campers will have the unique opportunity to go behind the scenes at Sarasota Jungle Gardens. They will learn what it’s like to be zookeepers through hands-on interaction with reptiles, birds and many other animals, helping to prepare the animals’ meals and creating toys for them. This rich learning experience also includes an introduction to Florida’s native plants which are found in abundance at Sarasota Jungle Gardens.

Camp activities also include arts and crafts, interactive education, a weekly guest speaker and the chance to participate in a show for family and friends at the end of each session.

Camp times are Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and cost $230/ week for one child and $210/week for each sibling. Campers may attend additional weeks for $190/week. For more information or to register, call (941) 355-1112 x 306 or visit www.SarasotaJungleGardens.com.
