Safe, new playgrounds in the works for at-risk children

FORT MYERS, Fla., (March 29, 2012) – Children’s Home Society is breaking ground on new playgrounds at both the Grizzlie Bears and Huggie Bears preschools in Naples, Fla. The fully accredited early childhood education programs at The Bears schools are open to at-risk children from infancy to age four.

“Safety is at the forefront for these new play areas,” said Rebecca McGuire, Executive Director of Children’s Home Society. “They will be outfitted with soft, synthetic turf and rubber mulch, both of which cushion a child’s fall and are non-toxic, environmentally friendly and durable.”

The Bears’ early learning programs offer education and tools to prepare children to enter kindergarten on a curriculum level concurrent with the School District of Collier County’s expectations. The early learning center is nationally accredited and aims to increase math, vocabulary and language skills prior to entry into kindergarten.

Sponsorships are needed to continue building the playgrounds. To help sponsor the construction of The Bears’ playgrounds, or for more information about Children’s Home Society, contact Rebecca McGuire at 239.334.0222 ext. 215 or email: Rebecca.mcguire@chsfl.org.
