ORLANDO, Fla. (Aug. 24, 2012) – Dr. Jennifer Languell, president of Trifecta Construction Solutions and nationally renowned green construction expert, dispelled the myth that all green certification programs are created equal during her recent presentation at the annual Southeastern Building Conference (SEBC).

Titled ‘Introduction to the Florida Green Building Coalition, Green Globes and USGBC LEED® Commercial Standards,’ Dr. Languell’s presentation compared the benefits and disadvantages of the three most commonly used commercial certification programs, serving to generate awareness among industry professionals about their options.

The three-day conference concluded with the AURORA Award ceremony where Trifecta Construction Solutions was among the winning team who received the prestigious award for a green, affordable housing project in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The green construction award for multifamily high-rise over four floors was a collaborative effort from Trifecta Construction Solutions, Reliance Housing Association, Broward Housing Authority and Facchina Construction. More than 5,500 contractors, remodelers, architects and builders from across the southeast United States attended the conference and award ceremony.

Celebrating 33 years, the AURORA Awards are presented to builders, developers, architects, and other building disciplines that have demonstrated building and designed excellence in the southeastern region of the United States. The Florida Home Builders Association (FHBA) conducts the judging process and award ceremony.

Since 1991, the SEBC has dedicated itself to being the most significant and successful regional building trade show in the South. The SEBC consistently delivers rich educational content, peer-to-peer interaction and business networking opportunities to exhibitors and attendees. In 2012, the three-day trade show featured more than 300 exhibitors, 40 educational sessions and access to continuing education credits.
